Arie E. Pelta, MD graduated Cum Laude from Yeshiva University in New York with a B.A. in Biology and PreHealth.
He then earned his medical degree at New York Medical College, graduating with the Cor et Manus award of distinction.
Dr. Pelta completed his general surgery residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center,
including a final year as Chief Resident in Surgery.
While a surgical resident, Dr. Pelta received the Ira Teicher Memorial Award for Education.
Dr. Pelta acquired additional specialty training during a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the
Georgia Colon and Rectal Clinic, here in Atlanta. He has published in surgical journals,
as well as presented his work at the annual meeting of the of the
American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
Dr. Pelta is Board Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also a member of the
American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons,
American College of Surgeons,
the
Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons,
the
American Medical Association, the
Medical Association of Georgia, and the
Crohn’s Colitis Foundation
