Dr. Ferguson received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. In addition to completing her General Surgery residency with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, she was a research fellow in the Division of Transplantation at the same institution.
Dr. Ferguson was a fellow in Colon & Rectal Surgery at Ochsner Clinic and then returned to a private surgical practice in Cincinnati before joining Georgia Colon & Rectal Surgical Associates in 2001. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery. Dr. Ferguson is active in national and local medical organizations including the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and the Atlanta Women's Medical Alliance. She is a Fellow in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
